After the excellent experience we had at the last CeBIT, we again exhibited together with our partner Siemens SEN Healthcare Solutions at the past MEDICA World Forum for Medicine (18-21 November 2009 in Duesseldorf). Once more we were guest of RIM – Research In Motion, manufacturer of the celebrated PDA BlackBerry®.

We were proud to showcase the many DAKS functionalities that are available in combination with the DAKS Mobile Client (DMC), a software that was written especially for the BlackBerry®, making it a truly intelligent DAKS device for both operation on a campus (via Wi-Fi) and on the go (via GSM/UMTS).

With this tool it makes no difference where the user is reached as the hand-over takes place automatically and unnoticed in the background.

In this way the BlackBerry® can be used to:
• set off and send emergency calls via a virtual emergency button,
• receive and confirm alarm messages or service assignments,
• convene and join emergency conferences, and
• receive patient calls, with direct callback to the calling patient.

Practical example: A nurse or care giver moving from one location to the next can now take every patient call while en route, even in the car, and immediately get direct voice communication to the caller at the simple push of a button.
