Signal Converter (SICO)

SICO is a special converter based on a compact interface board. To be deployed internationally, it connects PBXs to incompatible local network infrastructures.

The Signal Converter is put in-between the incompatible systems, provides the required primary-rate interfaces on both sides (E1, T1), and converts, where needed, user data, e.g. voice (B-channels) and/or signaling data (D-channel protocols or CAS).

The following conversion modes are currently available and selectable on site:
  • A-law to µ-law conversion for E1
(automatically switched off in case of data transfer)
with D-channel protocol according to ETSI specification (DSS1) on both sides
  • A-law to µ-law conversion for E1
    (always)
with CAS signaling on both sides
  • A-law to µ-law conversion for T1
(automatically switched off in case of data transfer)
with D-channel protocol NI2 on both sides
  • µ-law to A-law conversion for T1
(automatically switched off in case of data transfer)
with D-channel protocol CorNet-NQ on both sides

Additional conversion modes feasible on request.
