DAKS + Ascom

Specific DAKS features have been certified for the Ascom Unite portfolio, enabling Ascom solutions to be used for advanced applications in alerting and emergency communication.

The Open Access Protocol (OAP protocol) is used to connect the DAKS server to the Ascom UCM server. The tetronik-certified OAP interface is available for DAKSpro.

Integration and system support

Ascom Unite

Certified Ascom OAP interface for messaging

The Open Access Protocol (OAP) is used to connect the DAKS server to the Mitel Wireless Service Gateway (WSG) or the Ascom Unite Connectivity Manager (UCM).

The OAP data interface supports the following functions:

  • Send/Update Interactive Messages
    • with display of multi-line messages (up to 160 characters)
    • with up to 8 different colors (Red/Green/Blue/Yellow/Orange/Cyan/Purple/Brown) for alarm messages
    • with up to 3 different priority levels and message tones
    • with up to 6 softkeys (VOICE/CALL/OK/POS/NEG/WRONG)
    • with “overrule handset settings” (volume)
    • with call setup to the ESPA 4.4.4/TAP/ESPA-X initiator or into a conference (via VOICE/CALL softkey or off-hook button)
  • Receiving status/notification messages
  • Location tracking of IP-DECT/Wi-Fi end devices (without additional BLE infrastructure)
    • with output of the strongest received IP-DECT base station / Wi-Fi access point
  • Location tracking of IP-DECT/Wi-Fi end devices (with additional BLE infrastructure)
    • with output of the strongest received BLE beacons
  • Receiving terminal alarms (e.g., via SOS button) via SIP call or via OAP
    • with voice connection or callback to the initiator
    • with location tracking (DECT/Wi-Fi/BLE)
  • Transparent mode
  • In case of failure of the data connection to the OAP server:
    • fallback to telephone alerting
  • History function (locally on the terminal)
