Artificial intelligence is finding its way into more and more areas – and offering real added value. The use of AI-based camera systems is also opening up new possibilities in the field of alarm systems: live image material can be used to assess situations more accurately. In addition, multiple criteria can be linked to create different alarm scenarios. This allows those responsible to know more quickly what exactly is happening on site – without having to go to the scene themselves.
While video surveillance already provides valuable insights, the alarm server DAKS ensures that relevant information reliably reaches the right people – with clear instructions for action and via secure communication channels.
The combination of intelligent image recognition and professional alerting thus creates a real advantage: potential dangers are detected early on, and those responsible are enabled to act quickly.
At a bank building, AI cameras are used for surveillance. At one of the employee entrances, someone is trying to gain access to the building. However, the camera installed there recognizes that the person does not match any of the registered, authorized person profiles. Whether this is an attempted break-in must now be assessed by a person.
The camera is linked to the alarm server DAKS and its alarm logic. DAKS automatically forwards the camera scene to the responsible person to alert them to the presence of an unauthorized person at the employee entrance.
Even if the responsible security employee is not sitting in front of one of the screens, DAKS reliably alerts them via their mobile device. The signal tone immediately indicates the urgency of the alarm. A text message and an additional announcement prompt them to assess the situation. They confirm that they are carrying out the assessment by pressing a button and can call up the live camera image directly via a link. They clearly recognize suspicious behavior and immediately call several security personnel to the scene via the DAKS alarm server at the touch of a button.
Both DAKS and the AI camera system automatically keep a digital log. With just one click, the time stamp of the incident can be retrieved and the relevant video scenes are immediately available.
DAKS stores the time the alarm was triggered and the response of the people who were called, while the video software provides footage of who was recognized and what happened at the scene.
